PETROGLYPHS OF LAXE DAS RODAS

They are cave pictures, carved into granite stones, of the Chalcolithic period . It consists of nine figures: two spirals and seven circle-shaped. Some experts relate it to the cult o f the sun, others interpret it as a working calendar or an offerings table to obtain good harvests or they link it to death or fecundity.

CONVENT OF SAN FRANCISCO

Known as San Francisco of the Rial, it is located to the foot of the Oroso Mount. It was founded like a crematory in 1223, and above it was risen a romanesque chapel dedicated to Santa Monica of the Rial , becoming a convent in 1432. In 1835 it was abandoned after the confiscation of Mendizábal, but in 1873 it was reoccupied and restored by Franciscan friars.
